Machine Quilting
My quilting service is structured in
two levels and depends on how much quilting you would like on your
quilt. I use a Gammill
Classic Plus in my smoke free home. The prices exclude additional charges for
specialty thread, fabric, piecing, batting, machine binding, rush orders,
shipping and insurance. Use these
prices and fill out my Quilting
Order Form and
enclose one form with each quilt. A 50% deposit of the estimated service total
cost is required for each quilt and the balance is due upon completion and
prior to return shipping. I accept checks, money orders and credit cards
through PayPal.
Overall Quilting This quilting service, sometimes called edge-to-edge, covers the application of one pattern or larger meandering on the entire quilt. This service is ideal for the “everyday” quilt. Choose from the many patterns I have on hand or let me select a pattern that will compliment your quilt design.
Free-Motion Quilting This service allows you complete
freedom as the selection and combination of designs. Use designs from my collection, or I will
create one specifically for your quilt. It includes quilting that is specific
to your creation, such as stitch-in-the-ditch, continuous curves, small
background meandering, or a combination of designs or patterns.
Binding Service Prices I offer two levels of binding
service. If you provide the fabric, for $15 I will make and attach it for you
to hand stitch in place. Or you can provide the fabric and I can do the whole
job for you at the prices in the table below. This will be done by machine.
Batting I keep a small supply on hand as a
convenience for my customers. I prefer
Quilters Dream for the quality. If
you would like me to provide the batting, the following prices for those I
carry are listed.
Backing If
you don’t have the backing I can provide it for you upon request. I only
carry white and ecru muslin. The charge is $15 per sq. yd. I
use polyester blends and 100% cotton thread. If you would like something else
used, please call to discuss it. In most cases, your quilt design can
be enhanced with more than one thread color. I currently limit two thread
color changes for most quilts. This is mainly because the big quilting
machine is sensitive to certain threads and this results
in tension adjustments. If you would like more than two colors, I need to
know in advance (it will give me time to order if needed) and there will be a
$3 charge for each additional color. For those who like to hand quilt, I
will baste your quilt and return it to you for you to complete. The charges
are as follows. Crib $25 Lap
Size $27 Twin
$30 Full/Queen $35 King $40 An additional labor charge of $20
per hour will be required for work such as piecing, backing, pre-washing
material, repairing seams, squaring up backing and extensive pressing. |
